"My mistake" I said before the ice even hit the ground. The refrigerator had always been moody when dispensing ice, releasing it sporadically. An action I instantly personified as careless, I have an instinct to personify the inanimate. I looked to the floor where the ice had shattered and began to melt. I imagined what would do to the communities of organisms being flooded and drowned by an indifferent machine. It was in this moment I imagined this piece. This Snow Leopard is made out of the three states of matter and industrial heat.
This art piece is printed on canvas and features an aqua blue background with a tint of green. This tiger maple frame was electrocuted with 10,000 volts of electricity sent through a neon transformer. Featured at the bottom of the frame is a burn carving with the initial of the artist. The frame is polished to exceptional shine, using the same grit sandpaper used to polish new cars. After the frame is designed, constructed, and polished, it is finished with several layers of natural oils to guarantee a beautiful shine that is a testament to the beauty of wood and nature. Liam aims to create pieces that are constantly unique and push the limits of the term "handmade".
In the limited Endangered Animals Series 100 prints of each animal will be created, this Snow Leopard print is number 3 of 100. Each of the 100 prints will be uniquely colored, framed, and constucted so that each buyer may have their own unique rendition of each animal.
15% of profit on each piece in this series is donated to the World Wildlife Fund to help protect endangered animals
